For sunsetting a system: (1) Communicate early with all stakeholders. (2) Create a migration guide and timeline. (3) Run both systems in parallel (dual-writes). (4) Monitor for data consistency. (5) Cut over with a rollback plan. (6) Delete old system only after a full observation period.
